Voyager Mini Fridge Performance on USB Power

When connected to a power source, the Voyager Portable Refrigerator maintains a consistent fridge-like temperature between 2–8°C, continuously and for unlimited time, provided the ambient temperature does not exceed 35°C.

This ensures stable, dependable refrigeration for insulin and other temperature-sensitive medications.

Voyager Mini Fridge Performance with Cold Packs

When used without power during off-grid travel, the Voyager portable refrigerator for insulin continues to provide reliable cooling. Performance will vary depending on the outside temperature.

🌡️ At an ambient temperature of 30°C, it keeps insulin and medications refrigerated between 2–8°C for 33 hours, and cool below 26°C for 52 hours.

🌡️ At an ambient temperature of 35°C, it keeps insulin and medications refrigerated between 2–8°C for 30 hours, and cool below 26°C for 48 hours.

🌡️ At an ambient temperature of 40°C, it keeps insulin and medications refrigerated between 2–8°C for 28 hours, and cool below 26°C for 46 hours.

Operating the Voyager Travel Fridge with USB Power

1. Loading Your Medicine: Simply place your insulin pens, vials, syringes, or other medications into the USB-lid compartment as illustrated on the product images.
2. Seal and Power Up: Securely close the mini medical fridge and connect it to any power source. That's all there is to it!

Compatibility with Power Sources: The fridge works with any USB power source, including car cigarette lighters, portable power banks, solar panels, and standard household outlets.

Operating the Voyager Travel Fridge with Cooling Packs

The Voyager is equipped with a backup cooling solution for use in situations without electricity. Utilise the included Biogel cooling pack to keep your insulin and medicine chilled when travelling off-grid.

Steps to Use the Biogel Cooling Pack:

1. Prepare the Cooling Pack: Shake the Biogel cooling pack four or five times to ensure even distribution of the gel.
2. Freeze: Place the cooling pack in your freezer for at least 6-8 hours. It is fine to leave it frozen for longer than 8 hours.
3. Activate: Before use, submerge the frozen cooling pack in lukewarm tap water for 2-3 minutes to thaw the external frost. This step is crucial to prevent freezing your medications. If lukewarm water isn’t available, let the pack sit at room temperature for about 15-20 minutes.
4. Dry and Load: Towel dry the Biogel cooling pack, then place it along with your insulin or medicine inside the Voyager’s cooling compartment.
5. Seal: Securely close the lid to start the cooling process.

Maintaining Continuous Cooling: For extended cooling, keep a spare Biogel cooling pack in your freezer, ready to switch as needed. Additional Biogel cooling packs compatible with the Voyager mini medical fridge are available for purchase should you require more.

Maintenance & Cleaning Guidelines

Using USB Power: The Voyager mini travel fridge should not be operated upside down. It is critical to ensure that the heat dissipation holes on the USB lid are never covered or obstructed. Ignoring this advice may reduce the cooling effectiveness and potentially damage the unit.

Routine Cleaning: To remove internal dust, every few weeks, employ an air compressor or a hairdryer on a cool setting directed into the USB lid's dissipation holes. This practice helps maintain the fridge's efficiency and
prolongs its operational lifespan.

Operational Care: We recommend unplugging the USB cooling lid for 15-20 minutes to rest after every four days of continuous use. This precaution helps to extend the lifespan of the device.

Cleaning Guidelines

Exterior Cleaning: Avoid using water directly on the fridge’s exterior as it can damage the electronic components.

Surface Wiping: For the stainless-steel thermos and lid, use a damp cloth to wipe them down gently by hand.

Biogel Cooling Pack Care: Clean the Biogel cooling pack using only a soft cloth to ensure it remains in good condition.

USB Lid Maintenance: To clean the top part of the USB lid, blow air into the dissipation holes. The aluminium tube should be wiped with a soft cloth only.

Dealing with Oxidation: If you notice any oxidation marks on the aluminium tube of the USB lid, use an aluminium cleaner for removal. Oxidation is common due to the aluminium's high thermal conductivity and does not affect the mini fridge’s performance.
